Drawing II / Murphy
Step 1
Make a color wheel in your sketchbook using your color pencil. Get to know your TOOLS.
Watch this Color Wheel tutorial video, you may use all of your pencils to see how they blend.
Step 2
Working from observation of a still life, glass of water or candy wrapper, take 3 photos from various points of view (POV). Explore dynamic composition, pattern, texture and abstraction. Crop and zoom to get the object to fill the page. Crumple the bag, eat some candy or chips and reshoot. Use a studio mirror or clip light for reflection and light shadows.
Make 2 Thumbnail Sketches in your sketchbook. 5 minutes each. Use a viewfinder. https://sotafoundations2.wordpress.com/2014/11/12/colored-pencil-candy-still-life/
Practice hatching and cross hatching on simple solids as found in this video
Step 3
Candy Wrapper or Chip Bag Drawing To Wrap or UnWrap
Option: mask a frame around your large drawing pad to act as a framing device.
What is the local color of your object? Is the shadow cool or warm? Try for Optical Color Mixing. What color paper will you use?
