This is so cool J! I totally get vibe you are going for- reminds me mostly of maps on the inside cover of fantasy/fiction books. I think the one thing it may be missing is either more detail or more objects on the map because right now I am seeing a lot of white space. I think what is usually so cool about those book maps is that they are super complex and detailed and confusing almost. I would just suggest looking again at some of those examples for ways to figure out the white space. Maybe adding some more creative labels/wording to the “sea” or more detail in the brain or shading to each of the objects to make them feel less 2D. Love this direction and I know it will end up looking great!
This is such a delightful drawing! I love this fantastical little world you’ve created. There’s so much going on in it. The subtle digital color gradients are also well done. You also did a good job of making the island resemble a human head without specifically being shaped like one. Great work!
