This is beautiful Carly! I love that I can tell you really got into it with creating value and texture. Not only is your shading on point, but your perspectives are correct and your composition is dynamic. I think next time it might be even more compelling if you had one of the objects touch one of the edges on either the right or the left.

I think you overcame some interesting challenges including creating two distinct types of wood grain which I think you did beautifully. Also, it was smart to try to differentiate the two blacks (the fan/heater in front of the speaker) by making the object in the back much darker. So impressive that you even got in the shadows and wall values. Amazing job!

There’s so much depth to the textures and surfaces in this image. I love the texture of the wood and the little jar in particular. I also like how you can see the shiny reflective part of the plastic at the bottom of the microphone. I think the microphone ended up being a little less circular than it is in the image, but I’m really impressed with how detailed the “Blue” logo is. Great work!

Terrific resolution to this drawing problem, especially since we were remote and in person. The wood grain variety is the highlight as well as the use of values and textures. This is going to be a strong semester for you!
